CONSIGNMENT
The Consignment Model: Reduce, Reuse Recycle
Its great seeing good quality gear and clothing find a new home after its first life! We strive to provide affordable, environmentally responsible, local shopping options for our customers. Keeping items in circulation and out of landfills is good for the environment, allows people to find quality gear at a great price and provides sellers an easy way to sell and recycle the gear they no longer use. Supporting a circular economy keeps resources in use for as long as possible and extracts maximum value from the item, versus the traditional linear economy of make, use, dispose. Come on in and browse our expanding shop for your outdoor gear and clothing needs!
Sell the gear you no longer use and buy the gear you want for less!
We accept: backpacking Gear, Outdoor and Active Clothing, Outerwear, Camping Gear, Kayaks, Bikes, Canoes, Paddleboards, Bike/Kayak/Ski Racks, Climbing Gear, Fishing Gear, Kayaking Gear, Water Gear, Kids Outdoor Gear and Clothing, Boots and Shoes and more.
Here's how it works:
We accept quality outdoor gear that is clean and in good shape. Bring your gear in, fill out our Consignment Agreement and we will get it tagged and on the racks!

Sellers can bring items to the shop during our regular business hours. Our staff will inspect and let you know if there are any items we cannot take and have you fill out and read our consignment policy. Give us a call if you have questions about any items you would like to sell. We are experienced pricing items at a fair price and at a price that they should sell for in a reasonable amount of time. We welcome your input as well and you can decide if there is a certain price you need to get for your gear.

Gear should be high quality, functional, clean and in good working order. Clothing, Boots and Shoes should be clean and free of tears, stains, smells and animal hair. We will charge a cleaning fee if necessary to make an item sellable.
-
Standard Consignment Split: Seller takes 60% and shop takes 40% on most items. On items listed for less than $30, seller receives 50% of net proceeds. Seller and RMA may agree to different allocations on items of unique size, value, etc. Custom pricing must be raised and resolved at the point of item drop-off. (These terms are subject to change. Updated splits will be posted in the store and on our website, so you will know the current terms when you drop off your items.)
-
Consigning Bikes: We can only consign bikes that are in fully functional and presentable condition and that meet our minimum quality standards. Generally, we will sell any bike that was purchased from a bike shop or reputable direct-to-consumer bike manufacturer, but do not sell big-box store bikes. We offer our standard 60/40 split on most bikes. Because of the space and time investment involved in selling bicycles, we can only offer a 50/50 consignment split on bikes listed for less than $250. If your bike is not in fully functional and presentable condition, we may offer (a) to repair / clean the bike, deduct the associated cost from your account balance, and then consign the bike; and/or (b) to purchase the bike from you outright.
-
Sellers are provided access to an online account that they can use to check the status of their items, what may have sold and what they are owed. Once items have sold, Sellers can stop by and pick up a check or use all or part of the balanced owed as store credit.
The Outdoor Charitable Gift Program
Sellers can donate part or all of their proceeds from selling gear to local non-profit organizations that work to help our community.
When you bring items to sell at The Outdoor Gear Consignment Shop you can designate that your share of the sale price for some or all of your items goes to one of the charitable organizations listed below. When those items sell, we will send a check to that organization and they will mail you a contribution receipt to use as a charitable contribution deduction on your taxes.

The following charitable organizations are participating in this program.
